Travel & Tourism

Travel and tourism are one of the largest sectors. £106 billion, yes BILLION of the UK’s money is generated through tourism. But that is why countries focus their attention on having something great to offer. The key aspects of the travel and tourism sector include cruise ships, trains, airlines, travel agents, luggage, car hire and tour guides.

The hospitality industry relies heavily on travel and tourism, as it simply would not grow without the traffic of people per day. This can include formal as well as informal travelling, such as people going on recreational holidays, a trip to the beach or people travelling on business or for education.

Ease and convenience are crucial to keeping this industry going. No one likes the travelling part of their exciting trip, but the aim is to keep it as quick and hassle-free as possible as well as giving an array of different options to suit their circumstances.

Expedia and Booking Holdings are both holding the lead in the travel management sector with Expedia turning over more than 12 billion dollars in 2019 and Booking Holdings slightly in front turning over 15 billion dollars!

There are three different types of tourism; domestic (being a tourist within your own country), inbound (a resident of another country visiting us) and outbound (us visiting another country).
